NEW: Platinum Members Get Skippers Club!!

If you're a platinum member your documents will come with "VIP priority embarkation" printed right on them.

One other thing...you are platinum on your 11th cruise, not on your 10th.

We have our documents for our Triumph cruise in February and it's printed right on there so obviously it's not only the Valor.

My pvp told me it was to be effective Jan 1, but they still had some things to work out. SO she said when our docs arrived for our 1/5 cruise if it didnt say VIP checkin to call her.

Well they arrived and no VIP checkin--she called somebody and we were able to use the Skipper's Club last weeek. That was in JAX.

Will see what our Apr 1 docs say.

No, sadly we haven't.

Met a friend of his a few cruises back, Victor. Just as nice as Deep- they are from the same home town, he told me Deep and his fiance were then on the ??? cant remember, but it was out of Miami.

Hoping to see him again on the Liberty Apr 1!

Take care.....

I'm just wondering...won't the skippers check in get just as busy

Skippers line in Long Beach this Oct. had about 25 guest.

For LHP, Make sure you go to the Queen Mary and Check in first, then go stand in the Skippers CLub line. You can get checked in when they let the Skippers club line in, but its just one less thing you need to do when you get inside the Dome.

Randy & Zone both received Platinum cards as soon as we boarded Valor. Both #10 for them.

I took 2 carnival cruises in the mid 80's. The Tropical is '84 and the Jubilee in '86. Carnival says they have no record of these cruises because their computers dont show cruises going back that far. I never cared, but now it kind of matters. Im up to 8 carnival cruises, and VIP checkin as a Platinum member is definitely a plus. I called and they need proof - and pictures dont count..... Im frustrated. I dont have records that far back........ I dont have booking numbers for the 80's........

Any suggestions?

Just got an email from UB. I had emailed him with some ideas for platnum members. Anyhow, he had replied and said "let me know how you like your Jan cruise"

Well, nothing special for platinum on that one. (last week)

So emailed him yesterday and reported back like he had requested.

He answered back this am---he said "we are working on a package of goodies for our platinum members, unfortunately, it;s taking longer than we thought"

I told him I was impressed with his speedy reply and we are looking forward to the new "perks".

So sounds like good things are on the way.

Apparently it's also being done on the Miracle out of Tampa. We booked a Balcony Guarantee. When we got our documents it not only said "Skippers Club Check In" (not VIP) but also had our cabin assignment on Panorama Deck. This is my 11th Carnival cruise, her 6th

Our cruise is in three weeks.

Review in four.

Thanks for the heads up. We have never been out of that port before. We are staying at the Holiday Inn (about 2 miles from there) and they are going to shuttle us to the port. Then we are spending the night at the HI again when we get back, since our flight out isn't until 8AM on Monday morning. We couldn't get any Sunday fliights, because we are using 4 free (frequent) airline tickets.

(The trick is going to be stopping hubby from grabbing a taxi to the Lazy Daze RV Factory and driving home!! )

Not to split hairs, but if you received them as "soon as you boarded Valor," what good was it to have the Skipper's Club on #10? ;)

You were already on board, eh?

I don't want to disagree with you K, but I was on what they showed as my 10th.(they have no record of my 70's-early 80's cruises:( )

We had 8 cruises from as early as 1982 that we had to get added. We faxed photocopies of embarkation pictures and Carnival accepted that as proof. For the very first cruise on the Festivale in 1982, we did not have the embarkation picture but had a regular picture in front of the Festivale AND a photocopy of the luggage tag (front and back) and they accepted that.

We faxed everything to:

Carnival Cruise Line

IMC Specialist

at the following number : 1-305-406-6611

LHP, Your fax # was incredibly helpful. All my cruises are now accounted for. Thank you SO much.

I read in my Currents yesterday that platinum members now will be offered concierge service with priority embarkation, priority debarkation, a special Carnival Logo item, appetizers and petit fours delivered to the room, and options such as free laundry service, priority tenders, priority booking of shore excursions and more. I didn't bring the magazine with me, but I was impressed by the list. I expected the article to be a hot topic this morning!

I still have a few cruises to go, but can't wait till I get there!
