ItsOnlyUs Posted October 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2018 Hi there! I'm looking for creative ideas. We will be docking in Monte Carlo on my son's 18th birthday. Anyone have any suggestions on what we could do that would be meaningful & fun? We have a very port intensive long cruise with a lot of long tour days, so would like to do something different in Monte Carlo for the big day. Thanks in advance! John Bull Posted October 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2018 Hi Stephanie, For a lad's 18th in Monte Carlo the famous casino seems the most obvious. Minimum age is 18 (admission and betting and alcohol), dress code in the afternoons is fairly relaxed, minimum bet is €5 http://www.casinomontecarlo.com/casinos-2/casino-monte-carlo-2/about-casino/ Another option is to arrange for a taxi to drive you all round the Grand Prix circuit - preferably with a driver who speaks decent English (most do) and can narrate the route as he drives. It's public streets, the whole route is open year-round other than the week or two either side of the GP. It's only a two-mile circuit, we've driven it and on a cruise port-of-call we walked it in about an hour. Lap record is 1minute 11secs. A taxi driver will probably take a little longer, but it shouldn't be too expensive https://www.earthtrekkers.com/monaco-grand-prix/ If junior's luck is in at the casino, instead of a taxi & he can hail a limo at the entrance (the circuit goes thro Casino Square) for a more luxurious lap. :D JB :)
