cruiseelady Posted September 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2011 I am 34 year old female from NY, going solo. I saw hoping to maybe find single people to chat here with and meet on the cruise. I also would like to know if anyone would want to share a cab in Nassau to Paradise Beach and back. Also in St. Thomas I prefer to take a cab there as well to Magans Bay Beach, I have been there a few times, the beach is so beautiful there. But the cruiseline overcharges, makes sense to do it alone and maybe find another person to go with. I feel safer to do this with another person, I would feel a bit nervous doing it alone. It would be also great to meet people my age to go dancing with in the late evenings.
Starrgazer50 Posted September 21, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2011 Hi Cruiseelady, I hope you have a great time on your upcoming cruise! I've been to Magens Bay while in St. Thomas and it is a lovely beach and very popular. When I was in St. Thomas this year I ventured off to Trunk beach in St. John. Have you ever been there? I went on my own. The excursion through the cruiseline was pricey, plus the time alloted there was short.
cruiseelady Posted September 24, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2011 Hey Karaokelady, no I never went to Trunk beach.
Starrgazer50 Posted September 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2011 It's somewhat easy to get to. The journey is nice. You take a taxi to The RedHook Ferry and then Ferry over to St. John, which is about 20mins or so. Here is the info if you're ever interested in trying something different in St. Thomas. http://www.stjohnusvi.com/ferry.html

Cruise life Posted September 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2011 Hi, I am new to the site, but I saw your post and had to respond to travelling solo. I actually did this when I was about 22 and had a great time in St. Thomas. The people are so friendly and everything is so close, even if you have to take a cab solo, it can't be much. It has been almost 25 years, but this was my first ever cruise and it was great to do whatever I wanted when I wanted. Never cruised solo since, but I think it would be great to have that opportunity to do my own thing without worrying about everyone else. Hope you have great time. GL finding a cruising buddy!!
