Does Weather Affect GC Tendering Often?

The winter months are more likely to bring Nor'westers... cold fronts which switch direction and foul up tendering. A more limited number of ships can tender to the alternate site at Spotts when the seas are too rough to tender into Georgetown.

Summer months are less likely to miss the port, though this is "off season" for Caribbean cruises due to hurricane risk.

We were in GC last week. One day (Saturday) the only ship scheduled in that day had to use the other area (I think it was called Spotts). You would not believe how big the waves were. The waves were lapping up onto the port area. They were moving cars out of a couple of the parking lots. It was wild.

When we were in Captain Marvin's on Friday, I heard one woman say their ship was leaving a couple of hours early (because of the approaching storm), and they did. Those ships all left about the same time, and then the waves hit.
