Yes, its about that long.  We did the walking in Dec 2018.  You will see people walking back and forth in between the tree trail with road on either side.

 

Or you can take the tramp from the port to town for $2 per person and walk back.

 However, in the late spring to mid fall that walk will be a long hot walk for many.
