Carnival Inspiration Info - Please

Recommended Posts

I have booked a 5 day sailing on the Carnival Inspiration. This is a first-time cruise for myself and family. I have concerns about dining options for my family and want to make sure that there are plenty of options that are at no additional cost. What are consideded alternative dining options for this ship?

The age group in my group run from 20 to 48. Will the 20 year old be able to join us in lounges/bars and casino?

I have read in some forums/reviews that jeans and polo shirts are acceptable for dinner in the dining room. Any input?

Also - exactly how do you bring aboard soft drinks and alcohol?

I'm wanting to make sure that I have the lowdown on all extra charges that I can tell my family to expect. I'm fully aware of the alcoholic beverages, photos and tips. But is there anything else I should take into consideration?

I'm really looking forward to this trip and hope to make it a memorable experience for my family.

Respectfully,

Liz:rolleyes:

Hi Liz. You might want to go over to Cruise Critic's Carnival board for more answers: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=215&page=2&pp=25&sort=lastpost&order=desc&daysprune=-1What

The 20 yr. old will be allowed in the lounges, but cannot order a drink. The drinking age is 21 on Carnival ships, and her Sail & Sign card will be encoded with her birthdate.

Anyone 18 yrs. old can go to the casino.

MOST people do not wear jeans to the dining room. It's a hot topic and the consensus is that jeans do not belong there. The only real Carnival rule about the formal dining room is "No shorts, tees, or swimwear in the dining room in the evenings. Shorts and tees are allowed for b'fast and lunch, but no swimwear or coverups."

Also - exactly how do you bring aboard soft drinks and alcohol?

Carnival allows a 'reasonable amount' of soft drinks, as well as wine or champagne to be brought on board at embarkation. Alcohol and beer is another story. Folks DO smuggle booze on, but if it's detected, it will be confiscated and held until debarkation.

Most everything on the ship will be included in the cost of your cruise. You can even have espresso and cappuccino with any meal in the dining room (not at the Lido Deck buffet area). Everything except alcoholic beverages are available from room service, at no extra charge - but you should tip the delivery person $1-2 each time. Bingo would be an extra charge, but none of the other games like Trivia, etc.

I'm really looking forward to this trip and hope to make it a memorable experience for my family.

After my ten Carnival cruises - I can almost ga-ron-tee it!:)

according to the new documents it is reading a SMALL amount of non alcolhic beverages may be carried on. In the past we carried on a 12 packof soda. and only one bottle of wine is allowed.

the only pay place on the Inspration is the Cafe that sells cakes and specialty coffee. there is no Supper CLub. so everything else you see if free.

even room service--which should be tipped when service is rendered. you have the dining room, the seaview bistro which is the buffet located on the Lido deck, the deli, the chinese place, pizza place, the grill. room service. ice cream and yogurt machines (room service and pizza is available 24 hours--- the other places have set hours.

a site that will keep you busy-- http://cruiseclues.com/shipstips/inspiration.htm
