Rosegrower: You can purchase souvenirs at the terminal where you are brought by tenders. I believe I did see Cashew wine there. I did not see any nativity scenes out of wood. I will say that if you are considering a tour, you probably could purchase cheaper outside of the terminal than at the terminal. I went to the Altun Ha ruins and there were people with their wood wares there. You may be able to ask a local where else you could shop for what you are looking for. I would not ask someone who has a shop or booth though.

If you venture just outside the back gates of the tourist village, there is about a 2 block are with shops with native crafts, woodcarvings, woven goods, etc. Do this in the morning if you can, while waiting for your excursion. I think they were closed when we returned from our excursion about 3:30.
