Lori777 Posted January 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2006 I am going to be going on a cruise leaving out of FLL, 4/1, coming in on 3/31. We need 3 rooms and we were looking at the Riverside, is it a nice property? I know it is expensive but it seems like rooms are selling out. I was also looking at Hampton Inns, in and around FLL, any suggestions as to which Hampton Inn is better. And just over all comments about any of these two hotels. Thanks

Thanks Lori, I can only comment on the Riverside Hotel. Taking TrentS advice, we stayed there both pre and post cruise for our Dec. Zuiderdam sailing. The Riverside is gorgeous. Just make sure you get a room in the new Tower. Elizabet at the front desk was a gem. She took very good care of us. Early check-in. Even upgraded us on the post booking when she found out we did the renewel of vows on our voyage. The location is superb. Right on Las Olas Blvd. Short walk to the water taxi. And the Hotel is beautiful. Any other questions, I'd be happy to answer. :D
TrentS Posted January 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2006 No contest... Go with the RIVERSIDE HOTEL! Riverside is a wonderful hotel in a spectacular location... http://www.riversidehotel.com/ It's right on gorgeous Las Olas Blvd... http://www.lasolasboulevard.com/ With it's own Water Taxi stop... http://www.watertaxi.com/FortLauderdale/FLLHome.Asp There's only ONE Hampton Inn in Fort Lauderdale that I would ever recommend, but it's nothing compared to the Riverside. The new Hampton Inn downtown is nice but there's nothing to walk to, and it's best if you have a car if you stay there... http://www.hamptoninnftlauderdale.com/ (It's in the REAL downtown Fort Lauderdale, not the Priceline/Hotwire version of "downtown" which is really SE 17th Street.) mcboo Posted January 17, 2006 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2006 Riverside hands down. Everything you need is right outside the front door. Great service, great area. Always a great time. mcboo:) :) :)
jsn71 Posted January 26, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2006 Awsome, We just booked the riverside for 4-13 to 4-15 pre cruise , nice to see we made a good choice. Website stated that all lobby construction will be done by the end of Jan , And that was the only trouble that I ever read about the hotel...
