Hartswood Posted January 9, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2019 2 questions asked of Marella by e mail ahead of an Enchanting Far East 1 cruise and their replies are in bold:- Q1. Are suitcases taken right through from the UK airport to the ship at Langkawi or do we have to pick them up from the carousel at Langkawi Airport and take them to the transfer coaches? A. Customs require guests to walk their luggage through the scanners so you will have to collect them from the carousel. They are then put on a separate truck and brought to the terminal. Q2. Are E Visas accepted at the sea port of Sihanoukville in Cambodia? Some people on social media say E Visas are only accepted at the airport and the government web site does not make it clear. A. In terms of E Visas, they are not accepted in any port.
jaxw17 Posted January 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2019 What is it that you are trying to say both of these are correct. The latest information regarding Cambodia is the you need a passport photo each and you have to pay for the visa even if you do not get off the ship. cuisign Posted January 19, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Hi Hartswood I can confirm that E visas are not accepted, you need to take a passport size photo with you and get the visa on arrival in Cambodia (and pay £30). You can't away with it by staying on the ship either as you still have to pay up. There have been some very uncomplimentary comments on social media about the organisation at Utapao Airport and embarkation at the ship. TUI moved the arrival airport from Bangkok to Utapao and changed flight times too so. Utapao is a military airfield (or was) so perhaps passenger facilities there are not up to the mark yet. We're going in March so we'll get first hand experience of the arrangements for ourselves. Fingers crossed!
Cristaltips Posted January 19, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2019 Our Tui travel agent phoned last week to remind us that we needed to take a passport photograph with us. We fly to Langkawi on 27 February.
