Flying into Ponce, PR instead of San Juan

Has anyone ever flown into the airport in Ponce. It says it is 1 1/2 hours from San Juan. The airfare is about 300 dollars cheaper to Ponce than San Juan. Not sure if you can get a cab from there or if you have to rent a car. Thanks if anyone knows or has done it.

You will not get a taxi to take you from Ponce to San Juan as it is way to far. As for renting a car, I have done it once but was with some people that were fluent in Spanish and were able to guide me the right ways.

 

As for the Ponce airport, it is a very small airport and easy to get on the highway from there but it is not convenient for San Juan.

Ponce is at least 1 1/2 hours from San Juan. What you would save in airfare your would spend in cab transportation. You could check into renting a car at the Ponce airport and returning it in SJU. It is an easy drive on a highway.
