cruise saint Posted January 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2019 We are going to the Fjords on Britannia on 27th April including Flam. We would love to do the Railway but the P and O excursion seems very expensive. Is it easy to do yourself and what price are tickets if bought in Flam? dorsetlad Posted January 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2019 If you do a google search, you can find all the details on the Flam website, and book your tickets in advance.
Thejuggler Posted January 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2019 April is very early in the season and if the snow is down the trains may not run. Book with P&O you don't pay, go independently and you need to ensure you get refunds in case of cancellation. However the full day Norway in a Nutshell tour, which includes the railway, is one of the best value trips we have ever done.
Rare dronnygirl Posted January 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2019 If you make sure you are off the ship as early as possible, it's a 200 metre walk to the station. You should be able to get tickets on the day but they do get booked up. If visibility is not good there would not be any point doing the trip. Tickets in July were around £50 each
Dwalkerdave Posted January 25, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2019 Excursions for this cruise went on sale today. Pretty sure direct sale tickets for 30 April are all sold out already.
cruise saint Posted January 26, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) Thanks for all replies - decided to book the shore excursions. Are seats numbered on the tickets or can wee take any seat? It's my mother-in-law's first cruise and we would prefer she didn't end up in a separate carriage.
