Animal shelters in Nassau? Are all these places within walking distance of port?

Hi there!  A few questions....

 

Are there any animal shelters in Nassau that we might be able to visit?  Preferably within walking distance of the port.

 

Is the Rum Cake Factory within walking distance?  I am thinking we might like to spend our day visiting: Senior Frogs for lunch, the Rum Distillery, the Brewery....and (if walkable) an animal shelter and the Rum Cake Factory.  

Any chance there is a nice map out there that shows locations of these (and other) popular locations?

This is a good map of Nassau.  I can't answer your question about the animal shelter but both Senior Frogs and Pirate Republic Brewery are on Woodes Rogers Walk, right next to the port (around #18 on the map).  John Watling's distillery is near #13.  It's within walking distance and would take 10-15 minutes.  Follow the signs.  There's a rum cake factory farther away on East Bay Street.  If you don't want to walk there, there's also a Tortuga Rum Cake gift shop right in town.  Enjoy!
