TupeloHoney Posted January 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2019 We really want to take the kids snorkeling. What would you suggest? Both have snorkeled before, both in the ocean and regularly in Grandma's pool. The 11 year is very good at it and a strong swimmer. The 7 year old does fine, but I will keep a hold of her the whole time! Some options: Find a ship excursion (though most have an age limit of 8, there a few though - though the kids are really not interested in the stingrays) Private excursion Eden Rock or Sunset House What would you do? I think the 7 year old will get tired/bored faster. So it'd be good if there was a place for her and I to go while DH and DS continue for awhile longer. Someplace not so difficult, but good snorkeling. Thoughts? I've read reviews of all of the above, but most are not through the perspective of snorkeling with kids. Thanks! Capt_BJ Posted January 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2019 will you have your own equipment or need to rent? if you have your own I'd say head to Smith's Cove .. you can search here and learn more about it but for a beginner it may be better than DIY at Sunset or Eden as the depths are less . . . TupeloHoney Posted January 28, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 28, 2019 Oh that's a good question. We have some equipment, but not enough for all four of us to snorkel at once. So ideally we would rent some.
