Are the cabins that accommodate 5 different from the ones that accommodate 4?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm not positive we'll have 5, but positive we'll have 4 (my oldest daughter may be with her dad). Can I book the quad, and then add her later when I find out her definite plans?

I THINK what I've read is that they put a rollaway bed in a quad for the 5th person, and it folds up when not being used.

As far as adding - On a cruise long ago (Festivale), my sister and I were booked, and then our other sister decided to go. No problem in adding her at the 'third-person-in-cabin' rate.

The cabins for 5 people is the same exact cabin for 4 people. You will get a roll-away put in.

Depends on the ship and the category...

Insides on all the Carnival ships/all classes that accommodate 5 passengers do so with 2 lowers, 2 uppers and a rollway. Note that some of the roll aways are actually "slide aways" that slip under one of the beds during the day. This gets rid of some of storage space, an issue with so many people. These slide aways do not raise up, they are more or less a sled with a mattress on it, so the person on it will feel like they are sleeping on the floor, fine for a kid, not so good for grandma. I had a 5-bed inside on Triumph all to myself, and frankly I think it would be tough for 5 people to be comfortable in such a small space.

On the Destiny/Conquest class ships there are outsides that have 2 beds, 2 uppers and 1 convertable sofa, and hense no need for a roll away and more room for everyone. I would recommend one of these if you can book it. Also, these classes have family cabins on one of the upper decks that would accommondate

We had 5 in an OV cabin on the Triumph, we has a rollaway. Some of the older ships will allow a rollaway into a Quad cabin so it can accomodate 5. However, new ships such as the Glory, Conquest, etc.... are not allowing rollaways and we were told the maxiumum number per cabin was 4 when we booked the Glory.

We did five in an inside on Ecstasy and had no problems at all. Two lower single beds, two pulldowns and the slide out. We had pleny of room for all our luggage and never really felt cramped. Beds were comfy.
