QM2, Queen Mary Pods Photo

Recommended Posts

A view of the lower stern area of QUEEN MARY 2 showing the four Rolls-Royce "Mermaid" propulsion system pods. The aft pair of pods, nearest the camera, can rotate 360 degrees. These are the first quadruple pod systems to be installed on a liner. QM2 is also the first quadruple screw liner to be built since S.S. FRANCE in the early 1960's. (Ouest-France)

As near as I can tell from news and articles so far the forward pod on the left (port) side hit the port side of the ship channel while QM2 was leaving Port Everglades.
