Age Range on Canada/New England Cruise

My wife and I are in our late 30's/early 40's and are considering a trip in October of this year...an 11 night Canada/New England cruise on the Constellation.

 

We've never sailed this itinerary before. I know we should not expect the young crowd like we'd see on a Caribbean cruise, but can those of you that have sailed similar itineraries tell us what we should expect about the age categories on this trip? Will this draw a MUCH older crowd or will we still have a good mix of ages? Will there still be a good number of folks in our general age category.

Did this itinerary on Galaxy a few years back and enjoyed it.

 

General rule of thumb - you can assume any cruise that is longer than seven days, goes somewhere other than the Caribbean and sails any time other than during the summer or other school holiday will attract an "older" crowd. That's not say there won't be a mix of ages on board, but the crowd will likely be older than one you'd encounter on a shorter cruise, a Caribbean cruise or a summer/holiday sailing.

My hubby and I are in our mid 50's and we did the Constellation cruise in late September last year. We felt in good company with the our passengers for our age. We enjoyed the trip so much we have signed up for it again this fall. Unfortunately the overnight in Quebec is no longer available and it was the hightlight to an otherwise great cruise.

We went on the October 5, 2005 12-night Canada-New England Constellation cruise. I am 45, my husband is 44, and our son turned 13 the 2nd night of the cruise (before the flames, no, we didn't take him out of school--we are in a year-round district and our track has an October break.) There were a grand total of 12 kids on the ship, and the average passenger age was substantally higher than ours. All that being said, it was a wonderful cruise! Everyone seemed to be having a great time, lots of participation in activities. I was glad I had gotten to one lecture early--it was standing room only. As long as you're not looking for a party all night-"Fun Ship" atmosphere, I would highly recommend it!

We had taken this cruise but on Princess in 2001 and there is and all age group on that ship. Now this year we are doing the cruise again but with Celebrity this Oct. We are going because we like the itiniery so well. It is beautiful on the east coast and into Canada. Do not worry there will be all age groups there. We are in our early sixty's but young at heart.:D
