Jghendrick24 Posted January 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2006 Has anyone with a wheelchair used this company? We are flying down next February with my son who is in a wheelchair. He hasn't flown since he was about four years old. He is nineteen now. We have been looking for transportation from the airport to hotel to pier to airport. This is the only company I have been able to find that has wheelchair accessible shuttles. I did find a company that rents out minivans with a lift, but it's way too expensive for the short time that we would need it. If anyone has used Art's, I would love your opinion on how they are. Splinter Posted January 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2006 Look for a hotel that offers regular shuttle service, either for free or for a fee. If they offer this, they must also provide you wheelchair accessible transportation (per the ADA), and cannot charge you more than what it costs their AB customers, even if they have to contract for the service. Others have done this at various US ports successfully.
Arwenmark Posted January 21, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2006 Much of Florida has accessible cabs as well though it is a ways to go. I have taken them in Ft. Lauderdale, but so far not out of Orlando but would be surprised if they don't have them there as well.
