Should my Mom Go for it??

>> a Balcony guarantee??

My mom is sailing with us.. this is her first cruise. To save her some money, we booked her an inside cabin 5 doors down from our balcony. We booked one of our kids with her, so she didnt have to pay the single rate.

NOW>> she can get a Balcony guarantee for about $100.00 more.

Should she upgrade and take a chance that the cabin is not near ours? Plus my 9 yr old will be with her a lot of the time.. and there will be a lot of commuting between rooms.

What would you do?

Cathy, I'm a first time cruiser as well, and will leave for my first cruise later this morning. I booked a balcony room and am so excited and really looking forward to it! I think your mom should go for it!

Have fun on your cruise!!!

I'm the only one that is going to say keep her in the inside, near you. She can use your balcony to get a fix, and chances are that if it's just her and your 9 year old, she may not use it that much. If you can get a rebate/shipboard credit on the inside, that would be even better.

My mom sailed with us in January, my kids spent alot of time with her. She would have hated having to walk all over the ship to get to us, and my kids were constantly leaving important items in her cabin that we had to go back and get.

If she's expressed great interest in having a balcony, then maybe, but she might actually be happier just being near you, expecially if it's her first cruise. icon_smile.gif

Well....I'd gladly spend the extra $100 for a balcony, BUT you're right, it could be 'way away from y'all. If you want to assure that your mom's cabin is near yours..icon_confused.gif..it's just a chance you'll have to take. Decision time.

....as an update....

Unfortunatly, the $100.00 was too good to be true. Sure, there is a 100.00 difference NOW between the 4D and the Balcony guarantee...

BUT>> we got such a Great price last month, that the difference is almost 350.00 now for the balcony....

So... for now, Mom is staying right where she is! (But you bet I will watch the prices daily!)
