chrob Posted January 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2006 Are these one and the same thing or are they 2 differant attractions? If so, what is the differance and which is the better? How long does it take using the ships shuttle service to reach the town centre and how often do the shuttles operate? We will be on the Celebrity in May 2006. The Ice Bar and the Ice Gallery are two seperate places. They both import the ice from the Torne River in the north of Sweden. This is the same ice that is used for the famous Ice Hotel in the same area. The Ice Gallery is located in the Old Town of Stockholm, and the Ice Bar is located in the more modern down town area near the Central Station. The Ice Gallery features intricate ice sculptures done by local artists and serves drinks in glasses made of ice. The drinks at the Ice Gallery are non alcoholic. The Ice bar is located in a hotel and the drinks they serve are definately of the alcoholic variety, the ice glasses are the same in both locations. The Ice Bar usually requires reservations during the day, in fact the cruise lines buy up all the spots so you are almost forced to pay their bloated prices. The Ice Gallery on the other hand is a walk up operation, in other words just show up and buy a ticket. Enjoy your stay, Al
