thebird Posted April 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2004 I know they go up, but do they ever go down?? Am looking for those good deals closer to cruise time, in 33 days. I am using a PVP, so I want to know the best places to look for price drops, and how, exactly, to go about calling her back for credits. Can anyone take me through the process of getting a credit for a price drop? I didn't know how to go about it with another site,(figuring down to the penny) so I keep looking at Carnival's site, because I figured she would honor it if it was from their own site. Rare dickinson Posted April 12, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2004 yes, their prices drop on many cruises. Your best bet is to call a few times a week and just ask! However, you can also keep checking their web site. kiberkid Posted April 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2004 On the new Carnival website, I can't seem to get any prices on their special link. I can see the "last minute specials" but when I use the drop down promotions menu on the left all I get is blank pages. Has anyone had any luck viewing the "past guest" or "fun from Florida" etc promotions? Cotton Posted April 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Bird ~ Look almost at the top right of this page. See "News" and "Bargains"? I think sometimes we don't notice the obvious. Actually, I rarely look at that, and I'm here almost every day. In September, on a Friday before I was to cruise on Monday, I noticed a price drop in that particular spot...(bargains)! I called immediately (3pm), and got my PVP. She gave me a nice shipboard credit. Also - look to the right of this post...there are places all over that we don't really 'look at'. So, what I'm saying is look everywhere and call whenever you see a price drop. Works for me! Good luck. Ohdaisy Posted April 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Bird~ I have been watching for months for our cruise too. The price on Carnivals website hasn't budged (up or down). When I call they always give me a 'Residency rate' which is cheaper than the advertised price online but the same as what I paid when I booked with my PVP. Seems to be that the Sensation is a good seller as the price never goes down but then again it hasn't gone up for our cruise either so who knows??? I had also watched a few other sites in which the price was actually cheaper than Carnival but they wouldn't 'match' the price. Said that the sites I compared to must be cutting their commission. So no luck on my end either Daisy 5/10 Sensation...First time cruisers!
