Cruising out of New Orleans

  My wife and I are taking a cruise out of New Orleans in a couple of weeks, how long after leaving port does the casino open? I know it takes several hours to go down the Mississippi river before reaching the Gulf so just curious.

I'm pretty sure it will open very shortly after leaving NOLA. Gambling is legal in Louisiana. I've cruised at least 10 times from NOLA and I don't remember the casino being closed for very long.
