sr5242 Posted January 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2006 we are a family of 4 (2 adults 2 preschoolers) booked on the SUN in a BC stateroom. We are considering upgrading to a minisuite AF- the location would be by the pool- would this be very noisy? how does the room size and set up compare to a bc room? thanks in advance! Rumncoke Posted January 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2006 We've stayed in both the forward and the aft mini suites. The forward ones (nearest the pool) were very quiet. They're far enough forward of the pool area so that pool noise is not an issue, yet the convenience to the pool is really great. The forward mini's, from the balcony doors to the hallway, are: sitting area (little one's sleeping area), bedroom area, bath area. The aft mini's are more square with the sitting area and bedroom area together at the balcony door, with the bathroom area toward the hallway. Meaning, with your little ones, the forward mini's have a more private sleeping area for them and you would have easy access to the bathroom without bothering them (the mini's have a heavy curtain that separates the two areas, where the regular balconies don't. We happened to prefer the afts. Traveling with just the two of us, the layout seemed more open amd had more cabinet space. They're both great, though! That aside, traveling with anyone other than the two of you, the mini's offer such a wonderful bath area compared to the regular balcony cabins (more privacy), and the walk-in closet and drawer space is wonderful. You won't be climbing over each other as much. Anyway, IMO, pick the mini. Also, on the Sun, the mini's get perks that the Dawn/Jewel class don't because there aren't as many. Like, priority embark/debark, priority tender tickets through the concierge, etc. The mini's are great, go for it and have a wonderful time. The Sun is a fabulous ship!
