PVEcruiser Posted April 28, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2019 We're about to embark on a two week cruise aboard Ovation from Lisbon to Amsterdam in two weeks, and I'm very excited about it. However, I am concerned about Seabourn's policy regarding blacklisting internet sites. In July of 2017, on a cruise in Alaska, I was unable to access a strategy game I play even though I paid $400 for their "unlimited internet access" for the duration of the cruise. After dealing with the guest services officer onboard for several days to resolve my issue, my requested site was whitelisted by Seabourn headquarters for the remainder of the trip. Has anyone had any incidences lately with sites you've tried to access being blacklisted? I'm wondering if Facetime, Skyping or online streaming is accessible, since these activities take up much more bandwidth than the average online computer game. SKP946 Posted April 28, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) It’s not the bandwidth, Seabourn block gaming sites.(to protect the on board casino franchise?) I can’t even check online to see if I’ve won $50 m in lotto, (so I can retire and be a constant Seabourn traveler🤔🙄🤣) I can’t answer re Facetime etc is available, but remember the satellite service is s-l-o-w (although Ovation is meant to be faster) You have 12 port days on your cruise, so you should be able to connect to the cruise terminal**wi-fi is Ovation is close, otherwise take the shuttle into town and find a cafe with free wi-fi and buy a coffee. Even some of the On-Off buses have wi-fi. ** No cruise terminal in Bordeaux Edited April 28, 2019 by SKP946
