Rare martincath Posted May 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2019 It would help to know your options! Which ports are you visiting on your cruise?

maryann ns Posted May 7, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Not Halifax for sure. There are generally ships' tours from Saint John.
Rare martincath Posted May 7, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Saint John (or rather, St Andrews which is about an hour away) is THE hotspot for whalewatching inside the Bay of Fundy. You can look into a car rental and booking your own whale tour as from prior reports the cruiseline tour prices are jacked up to a level that likely makes it cheaper for even ONE person to rent a car just for themselves! Boston also has solid whalewatch options, so if that is the start or end of the cruise you would have more flexibility with your timing.

Pepper0074 Posted May 7, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 7, 2019 Humpbacks are the favorite of most whale watchers as they are typically the more surface active of the whales seen in the waters you will be visiting. My favorite ports are in the Gulf of Maine, Gloucester and Provincetown. If I was choosing from the ports that you listed, I would choose Boston. If I wanted to go in the Bay of Fundy, I do like Brier Island Whale and Seabird Cruises. I do not know how easily accessible it is from the cruiseport. Enjoy. maryann ns Posted May 9, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2019 Brier Island is nowhere near the cruise ports.
