tipping breakdown?

We found out an interesting bit of information on our Jewel cruise last week. Since tipping has been added to the bill, the casino employees now get a piece of the pie. So much from each $10 goes to casino staff  . The staff member who told us this says there is some issue about this as the casino workers also have better living quarters, different food choices, etc. I realize the casino is a money maker, however, not all passengers frequent the casino. I am pretty sure every passenger eats and uses a cabin. Does anyone know if besides wait staff, casino, and stewards, does anyone else benefit from the $10 tipping? This information did have an impact on my tipping in the casino.

I certainly do not have the answer, but I have learned through the years to pay very little attention to what workers tell me when cruising or staying in resorts. they have a little way of slanting things. As for the casino workers getting a piece of the pie, I would imagine, if this is true, it is a very small piece. I didn't know they had better living quarters than the rest of the crew. Is anyone sure of this? BTW, one of the crew members I sometimes give an extra tip to is the casino personel if they are really friendly and some are. Remember, the $10 service charge is a minumum for tipping, many tip more and on Celebrity recently it was a little more than $10 (recommended that is) NMNita

No simple breakdown as I understand it. An employee's share of the pool is based not only on job title, but job level, as well as rating. The best get more and the others continue to try and improve or advance for a bigger share.

Those comment cards do have a direct impact on the staffs income. It is a key element on the rating and consideration for promotion.

As posted I always make sure I provide some addition cash to those that went the extra mile to make my cruise special. Not required but certainly appreciated.
