newport mansion and walk

Newport is a walking town. As a tourist town with many one way streets, it is much easier to walk or bike or use public transportation than to drive.

Marble House and The Breakers are about 3 miles each way from Perotti Park (the tender pier.) They are located southwest of there. There is one large hill on the route, Memorial Avenue.

Tickets for the mansions can be purchased online, at the Newport Visitor's Center or at the properties themselves. The website for the Preservation Society has lots of great information. It is www.newportmansions.org The cost will vary based on which tour or combination of tours you choose.

The Preservation Society also has a store on Bannister's Wharf, Newport Mansions Store. It is one of my favorites. Enjoy!
