Embassy Suites Vs Lago Mar?

I'm trying to book 2 rooms for our family's pre-cruise stay in FLL.

I'm looking for 1 suite with room for 4 adults and 1 infant, and a second room for 2 adults.

I've reserved 2 suites at the Embassy Suites on 17th Street which looks very nice, and plenty big enough for our family, but the going rate is $208 a room

Now I've found a poolside deluxe 1 room suite at Lago Mar for about the same price (around $205 a room), which I think is still big enough for 4 adults and 1 infant (maybe??).

We'll have a car so transportation is not an issue for us.

Which would you choose??

Thanks!

If you're beach/pool people go with Lago Mar... It's an older hotel, but VERY nice and on the nicest part of Fort Lauderdale Beach.

If you don't care about the beach and want to be within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shops, then Embassy Suites is probably better for you. It's currently undergoing renovations, but will be all completed by the time you come (by your countdown clock).

I've stayed at both locations and also the Hyatt Pier 66. We prefer the Lago Mar.

The hotel is nice and we prefered its location. It has a nice beach and when we sat out there we could see cruise ships that were arriving and leaving from Fort Lauderdale.

To me Lago Mar had character. The Embassy Suites is nice but it's the same type of Embassy Suites that you'll find all over the country.

If you want to try something different, go with Lago Mar.
