?? for those that have cruised to Bahamas in Oct/Nov

I'd like to hear from past cruisers how the weather was...were ports changed due to hurricanes? Were you able to enjoy the beaches at the ports or was it too rainy? I assume it's still very warm down there that time of year. I just am wondering on how rainy it is!

Thanks,

Pam

The weather isn't normally rainy that time of year. Rainy season is May-August. It's just about every afternoon. But you will run the risk of a hurricane. Hurricanes really pick up in September and October, which is why the rates are generally cheaper. We've sailed in October and November and been lucky, beautiful weather on both. Just buy trip insurance.

We sailed there in October - it rained the whole time we were in port and they cancelled many of the water excrusions. Ended up coming into Florida right behind Hurricane Opal. The price is good as long as you don't mind the ship arockin'.

I was the mid Oct last year. The Nassau day was warm, overcast with a bit of light rain. Still was able to dive though. the next day was Coco Cay (RCCL's private island) which is a bit north of GBI. Hot and sunny.

We've cruised to the Bahamas three times during that time of year. Once it was hot & sunny, once it was cool & sunny and the last time (late October 2002) it rained just about the whole day. On that last cruise, we had four port stops -- San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten & Nassau. The weather was beautiful in every port except Nassau.
