I tried to do a search, but could not find anything. We are cruising to Barbados early next year. We have U.S. Passport ID cards. Is that okay  or do we need the full passport book? Thanks in advance!

I was told by an NCL agent that while the ID Card will work on the ship if something were to happen and you do not make it back to the boat for whatever reason you cannot fly with an ID card so they recommend a full book.

Unless you are flying to Barbados and embarking from there, you are not required to have a passport.

This is true.  My recomendation was based on if you were flying in but to get in/out of port to the ship the ID would not be a problem
