Cinque Terre From Portofino

Looking for info on anyone who has done Cinque Terre from the port of Portofino. Royal has two options, both fairly expensive.  Would love to know if this is something we could do on our own?  Or Does anyone have any tour companies they recommend? I have searched cruisecritic, google, trip advisor, and am having quite a bit of difficulty finding things.  Searches keep turning up excursions TO Portofino, instead of FROM.

You could get the ferry from Santa Margherita Liguria using Line 5 as detailed on this website www.traghettiportofino.it 

 

It seems to be around 35EUR for the return trip with 2 hours to spend in Vernazza or Riomaggiore and the 3 hours in Monterosso.

Several years ago we caught a bus from Portofino to Santa Margherita Ligure and then a train to Cinque Terra

I’m interested in doing same  for Sept we have 11.5 hours in port. What are best sights,views and what to do 3 hrs in Monterosso not counting lunch? Is there a ferry from Portofino to either village in Cinque Terra or is it best to do that from Livorno as have same amount of time there the day before? Trying to figure if do 2 days in Cinque Terra or do Lucca or San Gimignano? Went to Florence 3 days last year.
