I also woulkd like to know about this. We will be in Nassau on Cable Beach for 7 days...and want to be safe from the insect bites (if there are some) We will be there Feb 11-17 and plan to also go to Rose Island for one day

Generally speaking, it's no seeums that you are worried about. They usually come out when there's no breeze and in the underbrush or amoung the fallen pine needles and palm fronds.

For those who are sensitive, I recommend Skin so soft on the beach, but if you are wandering thru the pathways on private islands or thru the brush, I recommend a stronger deet product. (I carry a small palm size deet (off) with me, just in case.

Some people are sensitive (me) some are not (SO), we can be in the same place at the same time and I'll be bitten to raw meat and he'll be fine.

 

Make sure your ankles and shins are covered with skin so soft, and bring along benydrl or a sting stick.

The boats on dry dock, so I'll be hanging at the beach til Feb 15th (probably British Colonial or Nassau Beach Hotel). Maybe we can meet for a drink.
