Has anyone taken the Princess bus shuttle from Anchorage to Whittier (I think it leaves from the convention center) ????  Can you comment if this worked well, when you arrived at the port and what time you were allowed to board the Royal Princess?

You might take a look into the Alaska Railroad instead.  A beautiful and relaxing trip that will drop you off right at the ship shortly after noon.  Well worth the small increase in price, IMHO.

you can either do the railroad or the bus transfer. I did the bus transfer as it's the most inexpensive way to get to Whittier. When I went I stayed the night prior at a hotel and then my concierge had a free shuttle service and they knew exactly where to drop me off because apparently that week it was not the convention center where princess was doing it it was the Marriott so usually if you're at a hotel they know exactly where to drop you off. As long as you tell him you're heading on a Princess Cruise. When I did it at the Marriott it was super well-organized.
