Booking fee paying restaurants on Discovery

Hi all . We are new to Marella and looking forward to our Far East cruise on the Discovery next year. On other cruise lines you can pre book and pay for restaurants along with your excursions. Is that so with Marella or do you just book on the ship? Not sure we will use the ones you pay extra for but curious how it works. Any info about this and other aspects would be most welcome.

Hi and welcome. 

You can only book the speciality restaurants once onboard and would suggest you do it ASAP as thay are popular and IMO very good, you can do it via the app again once onboard which is free and also allows you to check all your bookings and accounts. You can book excursions on line in the UK and they are a little cheaper and can be cancelled on board with 24hrs notice with a full refund.

Thank you. Another question I ve just thought of! With all the different currencies needed how did people sort that! Are there good facilities on board or do we need to get organised?

Pensioncruiser can I ask you what app do you use for booking the restaurants? Can I download that before my cruise? Thanks. Sorry if I’ve missed that on another thread.

Don't think you can download before boarding, I normally do it once on the ship but I am an oldie and not computer literate others may help. We try to book ASAP for special events but always book for changeover day. 🎂

Found the info on the Navigate app and you are correct that  you do download it once you are onboard.
