Age group on CB

We sailed on the CB in Jan 05 and found the average age to be early 50's. Very few teens and children were on board. The weather was a bit cool around 70 degrees and a bit chillier at night. The seas were quite choppy with 15 foot waves. The ship changed course a couple of times to find smoother seas which helped a tad. The seas were too choppy and we were not able to stop at Princess Cays. All in all we still had a good cruise. Although we have decided our future cruises will be in early spring in hopes of warmer weather and smoother seas.

DH and I just returned from our second cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess (1/28/06) having sailed on this vessel a week earlier in January, 2005. This was our fifth Princess cruise – we received our Platinum cards/pins on Thursday evening – and our “lucky” 13th cruise overall (14 for me). Our only experience with Princess to date is on “grand class” ships (Star, Golden, Grand, and CB), and we look forward to a smaller ship and longer itinerary when we sail on the Dawn 1/25/07 – an 11-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera from San Francisco for which we did an on-board booking.

The major difference between this voyage and last year’s was the average age of passengers. I estimated the 2005 guest complement to be around 40-something; this year’s average age was more like 30-something with many young families, plenty of strollers and babes in arms, and, reportedly, a very active children’s program. Last year, we didn’t even see children until we arrived at Princess Cays.

Rainbird:

The passenger complement is likely to vary with each voyage.

For the most part, we had warm weather throughout the cruise, but it was often cloudy on sea days and in port at St. Thomas and St. Maarten. The prettiest day was the final day of the cruise at Princess Cays.

Bon Voyage!

Chris

Hi we are going on CB on 4/29/06, we have 2 kids 7 & 13 it is not a spring break for us, but I was wondering if it was for anyone else and if you think there will be kids aboard. Also what is the age range at that time of year, any different?

Thanks & Happy sailing!!!!
