Poas Volcano National Park

Hi!

 

Has anyone taken the ship's excursion to Poas Volcano National Park? And, if you did, how was it? How was the lunch provided? Was the shopping in Sarchi a 'tourist trap'. I would rather not do a ship excursion, but haven't found a local driver who would go that far. Maybe they're afraid that they wouldn't get us back on time if they should have a vehicle problem. I know the roads are awful!

 

I'm trying to decide between that and doing a local tour with Charlie Soto. Our port is Puntarenas, so options seem to be limited.

Hi Linda47,

We are doing the Poas Volcano tour with Charlie Soto in September 06 from Puerto Caldera. When are you going to be in Costa Rica? I'd be very interested to know what else you do on the tour with Charlie or on the ship's tour if that is what you decide to do.
