I Sugar Posted September 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) We are looking at booking our next cruise. Marella Discovery 2. Exotic Explorer. Thinking of booking a Junior Suite on deck 8. Is there a cabin you would recommend. My husband is trying to persuade me to book one that is on the back of the ship. I get motion sickness so I prefer mid ship. Recommendations please? Edited September 14, 2019 by I Sugar Spelling mistake
northengirl Posted September 15, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 15, 2019 We had cabin no 8034. It was very handy for the stairs and lifts. The water dispenser was also close by. Very quiet and midship so good if the going gets a little rough. Would choose this cabin again.
SausPud Posted September 15, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 15, 2019 The ones at the back have such a large balcony, that with the 2 loungers, 2 chairs and table, we had 15 guests out there not sitting down and no one was touching each other. I reckon we could have got 5 more people. It's that huge.
I Sugar Posted September 15, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted September 15, 2019 Thanks for your advice. It’s not until next year. We will be keeping an eye on the price!
Pensioncruiser Posted September 17, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2019 We are at the moment in 8086, the one in the centre at the stern and also have it booked for next year we find it better than port or starboard, which we have also been in on Discovery. They are very popular so book early.
I Sugar Posted September 17, 2019 Author #6 Share Posted September 17, 2019 Thanks for your advice. It’s put my mind at rest. The stern it is then!
SausPud Posted September 19, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2019 Here are some pictures for you of the stern. These are taken on Grandeur of the Seas which is a Royal Caribbean sister ship and the layout is the same (except for some of the venues but cabins the same). The decor will be different but the size is the same.
I Sugar Posted September 21, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted September 21, 2019 Thank you Sauspud. Thanks for the pics. It looks good to me. Still not sure about the stern. I do suffer from motion sickness!
