WESTEAST Posted September 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2019 We are considering a shore excursion from the Napier port that includes a drive up to Te Mata Peak for the stunning views. Have read the ascent to the Peak can cause problems for people with vertigo or, that get migraines on elevation changes. Has anyone experience any health problems driving to the Peak? vada_9 Posted September 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2019 I have included a couple of photos from Te Mata looking back to Napier, and also part of the road up, The road was a little steep and maybe narrow in places from memory.

Rare mr walker Posted September 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2019 We travelled to the Te Mata Peak on our ' limo bus' tour with Black Rose http://www.blackroselimos.co.nz/ in Jan. No issues for us, just spectacular views, and wonderful visits to winery, chocolate/fudge factory & fruit ice cream, along with the wonderful Hawke's Bay scenery. muddles@sea Posted October 4, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2019 Can recommend Black Rose Limos. The drive up to to The Peak was great. It is a one lane road near the Peak and the van is escorted up by a motorcycle rider. The views are spectacular, can see along the coast and inland to Lake Taupo. The berry ice-cream stop was a highlight.
