Car rental @ Port Canaveral

I want to ask if it's easy to rent a car at Port Canaveral?  Can we just get a car there or we need to ride the shuttle to get the car?  Since this is the first time we are cruising from Port Canaveral and we want to rent a car after the cruise for a day, our flight is late @ 9pm.  Thanks!

You have to get on the free shuttle to the company of your choice. 1-10 minutes away depending on terminal and/or traffic. All the big players are available.
