Has anyone ever checked in at New Orleans with dialysis supplies

This is going to be my first time cruising while on peritoneal dialysis. Has anyone ever checked in at New Orleans when carrying on their own supplies. I am bringing 7 boxes of fluid for my 5 day cruise. I will have all of the other supplies in my carry on. I am worried about leaving the boxes with the porter and then it gets lost. I would have to get off if that were the case.

Definitely check with your cruise line's Access Department regarding how to do this bringing your own supplies.   They will need to know you will be doing peritoneal dialysis in any event.   And if you are going to be arriving at the port prior to the rooms being available, ask the Access Department if you can have access to your room to drop off your supplies.

And do NOT leave anything like this with the porter.   By the time you would know that your supplies got lost, your ship would be out to sea.
