Wine Seminars

I am sailing with two newbies on 11/19/19 on the QM2 who are grape growers here in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State.  They grow many varieties and are very active in promoting the local wines.  They asked me this weekend about wine seminars on board the QM2 and even though I have sailed on the ship many times I have not paid attention to the wine seminars.  They mentioned they attended  a wine event on a Princess ship which  was very disappointing...…..I do remember a tablemate a few years back very happy with an afternoon wine event on board......…..  Would welcome an over view of what to expect, costs...........Thanks.

Here are some of the options mentioned in the QM2 daily programmes I have from the July 7-14, 2019 eastbound crossing. Our return crossing had similar offerings featuring different wines, countries and regions.

Tutored Wine Tasting.

Northern Hemisphere.

Join our knowledgeable sommeliers from the Queens Grill and uncover wines you may not even know existed. At this tasting you will explore the work of talented wine makers who do things differently and we travel to lesser known appellations and regions. This promises to be a sensational afternoon.

Please sign up with your Restaurant Sommelier or phone the wine line on 22062.

$45.00 per person, tomorrow, 9 July at 3.15pm, Britannia Restaurant, Deck 2

Lunch and Learn.

Join our Chief Sommelier and finally get to grips with France! At this tasting we will decode French wines for you and give you the keys to understanding where they use the most common grape varieties and the wines that have made them famous. Our expert chef will prepare a superb menu perfectly matched to the wines.

Tomorrow, 10 July at 12.00pm (noon). Verandah Restaurant, Deck 8, D Stairway. There will be a fee of $80 per person.

Fine Wine Seminar.

Great Cabernets of the World.

Enjoy an afternoon devoted to the "King of Red Wines". Cabernet Sauvignon is responsible for some of the world's finest wines, working either on it's own, or blended with other varieties. Join our Sommeliers from the Queens Grill and compare the nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon from old and new world wineries and see how climate and location can affect the same type of wine.

$120.00 per person. 11 and 12 July at 2.30pm, Tasting Room, Deck 3, Port Side.
