St. Barth's Tour

Last October we took the tour to St. Barts on the Rapid Explorer high speed ferry and then hired a van to take us on a tour of the island. The ride across to St. Barts was extremely rough and some of the passengers were under the weather, but the ride back was very smooth. Staff was very solicitous of those who were not feeling well.

The tour of the island for six of us was about $20 a piece and at one point the driver dropped us off at a beach and came back for us at an agreed upon time. Prices are high in St. Barts (beach chair rentals were $27) and drinks at the beach were about $14. However, in Gustavia I bought 2 Heinekins for about $7.

St. Barts is a beautiful island and, since we have been to St. Maarten many times, was a nice change of pace. The ferry left around 9:30 am and picked us up for the return trip around 2:30 pm. The ride is about 45 minutes.
