Freeport Carnival excursions

I know this is preemptive but can we start a thread that has info on what the remaining

excursions are truly like in Freeport after Dorian? We are just looking to infuse some money

into the Island and have a safe relaxing beach day. Food and alcohol would be nice. Carnival says

they have a select few that are up and running. Obviously, reviews/pictures are null and void

since the hurricane. TIA!

We were on the Elation and went into Freeport this past Sunday. There are a few excursions from Carnival- beach day (Taino beach), sailing, snorkeling or diving. We thought that the excursions from Carnival would be super crowded so we chose to go own our own to Paradise Cove and Deadman's Reef and it was very nice. Only 15 people total there! There was a lot of beach erosion but they are working hard to get things back up and running. The snorkeling there was very nice from the beach- lots to see and water clarity was good. https://deadmansreef.com/ They also have video updates on fb. It was our driver's first day back to work in over 5 weeks! Everyone we met were happy that the cruises are coming back- jobs and money back into the economy. The driver said that Port Lucaya Marketplace might be up and running next week. It will depend on when you go how many more offerings that Carnival will have.

Thank you so much for the update! We sail next month and were wondering if it would be worth the trip to Paradise Cove. Your review will help us tremendously!

Awesome thank you for all the info! Did you just take a taxi there and back or did you prearrange something with them specifically?

Easy to pre-arrange on their website but there was also a lady holding a sign for Paradise Cove once you got off the ship. She can sign you up and then you pay when you get to the beach. They meet around the Harley Davidson store front and the drive to the beach is about a 20 minutes. They have a van that goes back to the ship a few times a day so you can go back earlier if you need to.

Thank you so much. Sounds like this will be our plan.

We were in Freeport last week.  We took a taxi ($5 pp) to the Grand Lucayan resort.  Day passes are $20 pp, $10 for kids.  The taxi was $6 pp back to the ship.  The resort was in good shape, some shingles were missing from some of the roofs.  There wasn’t very many people, but it was a beautiful day.  We enjoyed the beach and pool.
