wow Posted October 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2019 We are sensitive to smoke smell and are worried about how much smoking in allowed on the Luminosa on the Caribbean sail. Anyone been on this ship that can tell me how bad the smell is? Do they allow smoking on the balcony? Should we just scratch this cruise off our list due to smoke smell, we like everything else about it and want to give it a try? Thanks for any input. tenpin Posted October 24, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Smoking is only allowed on a section of the open deck & in the Cigar Bar on deck five, there is very little to no smell. As for balcony's the Company's answer is no but some do, if so, report it. Being a multi cultured ship different people think breaking rules is okay, but we have never had any real problem with smoke over the last five years.. wow Posted October 25, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Thanks, that's great to know. I did call Costa and they said that smoking was allowed on the balcony on the Luminosa caribbean sailings. I was not confident with any of the answers I received from her. We decided to let it be what it is and not worry.
tenpin Posted October 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2019 Costa Caribbean & US sailing have different rules to the EU, but I believe they are trying hard to stop any smoking on balconies due to fire risk. We have not had a problem at all in our last twenty cruises with them with smokers, since they stopped the smoking in the Casinos & main ballrooms.
