Regal Princess Virtual tours!

Hello everybody!!

 

I have just discovered from the Princess pages about virtual tours for Regal princess. The address is http://www.virtualtourusa.com/regalprincess.htm . I had a look and she does look nice. Just interesting to see what she looks like for when we get her next year.

I wonder if She'll sail out of Sydney and the Sun will move? or if somewhere else will get the new ship.

She'll definitely sail out of Sydney with Sun moving to Brisbane probably and Star taking Auckland, Melbourne and Singapore.

 

I assume she fits under the Harbour Bridge. Apparently Berth 8 at Darling Harbour is a lot cheaper than the passenger terminal at Circular Quay.

 

It will be interesting to see what mods P&O have planned for her. Hopefully they don't squish her up as much as Sun which is cramped in the public areas when it has all 1900 pax on board, a legacy of the 400 pax increase during its upgrade.

 

Other changes will probably be a smaller casino which is very large currently and Australians probably don't use casinos quite as much as Americans, lots of 4 berth cabins to cater for Australian families and I wouldn't be surprised to see a waterslide installed on one of its pools. This is a very popular feature on Sun and it would be seen as a stap back if Sun's replacement was lacking such as family friendly feature.

we were told on our cruise that the regal princess doesnt fit under the bridge thats why they wern't sure where the ship was going.. hopefully to sydney though because that is where all the new ships come isnt it? we deserve a better ship:p

I would say Regal will definetly go to Sydney, as that's where the main market it is. As to what will happen to Sun & Star we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Hopefully by then Star will have picked up a good following in Brisbane and she'll stay here.

my guess is that the Regal will take over the Pacific Princess and only be here for 6 months of the year going out of Sydney - I have also heard that rumour elsewhere

Dont hold your breatha the Dawn Princess was supposed to come here full time end of this year and that got scraped

i hope that Sydney does get the Regal! It would be good if they put in a waterslide!!:) It would be interesting to see what she looks like, once being renovated for the Australian market. We deserve a new ship! :p

Regal Princess will come to Australia around - mid 2007 - they are going to finish all cruises on sale for this ship - unlike the sky
