venusjems Posted April 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2004 we did the snuba a few years ago. My mom aunt and myself. At first i loved it, then the cord that holds you to the tank yanked me back (its only so many feet long) i popped up out of the water and couldnt catch my breath anymore, i started hyperventilating the guide was real nice and trying to help me calm down and teach me how to breath.. My mom and aunt never could go down and stay down, it is hard to control your breathing. But thats just us. Like i said i loved it... at first. Till my wedding!!! Sea Turtle Posted April 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2004 If you carry excess body weight, it can be a very unpleasant, exhausting experience. Fat makes you float, and not all vendors have enough weights to load you down to get you to a point where you can stay beneath the surface. The thin people in my party loved it, the fat didn't. Can't help you, mprego7555, with the GC vendors as we did this in Coz. Hope you enjoy it! <img src=http://members.hometown.aol.com/bay2baygal/myhomepage/seaturtle.gif?mtbrand=AOL_US>
venusjems Posted April 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2004 That reminds me. I did have to have all these weights tied around my stomach to help me stay down. Till my wedding!!! (Cruise +1 day and 5 hours)
CharleneDaniel Posted April 28, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 28, 2004 I think snuba is okay but not as good as doing a Beginners Resort Diving Course. You are free to move around wthout being attached to anything. We want to get fully certified now. Abanks/Eden Rock Beginners Diving it is cheap too, only $75 and its such a beautiful place!!
