Upgradefairy4u Posted December 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 3, 2019 Doing a pre cruise extension to Madrid in January. Staying at the Hotel Intercontinental and looking for a few great restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Tapas would be a plus! Thanks in advance! edinburgher Posted December 7, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2019 (edited) Although you will find tapas everywhere, you could also search online for something like "best tapas in Madrid" or similar. And if you go onto the reviews of this hotel on Tripadvisor, the location is shown on a map, together with the locations of nearby restaurants. You simply click on each for the type of food they serve, menus, reviews, etc. If you click for more, it opens up onto a larger map showing more restaurants. That way you can browse all of them to help you decide. We often use the same method when deciding which hotel to book, when we may want to eat closer to the hotel in the evenings and want to know what our options would be. To be honest, Spanish "dinner timings" are too late for us. Whenever we are in Spain we prefer to have our main meal at "Spanish lunchtime" which is more like early/mid afternoon, and have a snack in the evening somewhere close to our accommodation. It means we get a nice rest part way through our sightseeing days which can be tiring in cities. Madrid is a lovely city. Enjoy.
