Mrworldwide_88 Posted December 20, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Hi guys. My wife and I have british passports a B1/B2 US visa We're planning on doing a 4/5 night NCL cruise in April on the Sky/Sun followed immediately by a 7 night on Encore. A friend thinks there may be issues with visa etc? When we sailed on the bliss out of LA our Passport was never scanned, just looked at by US immigration when we arrived back in LA. Has anyone from the UK ever done a back to back cruise with norwegian and had any issues with Visa? Just dont want to book then have any problems. Many thanks
DandytheCop Posted December 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Normally you, from a Visa waiver country, will be admitted for 90 days into the US under the I94W (visa waiver) program. However since you said that you have a US Visa that is a 6 month multiple entry admittance. Even though you will be on a "closed cruise", it will not matter. If for some reason you are departed in the system, you can and will be readmitted with no issue. You will not even know that that has happened. What you did not realize is that your passport was scanned, it takes seconds and is so routine that people do not realize that it was done. You should have received a stamp, sometimes stamps are not given but that is not the norm. Do not worry about the entry or exit, it is done thousands of times each day all over the US and at pre-clearance spots throughout the world. Depending on where you leave the UK, you may also be pre-cleared for your entry to the US.

Many thanks We also have British UK passports with US B1/B2 visa. When we check in at the terminal (embarkation) they take them seriously - they enter the visa #, etc. so we get to go on record that we're on the cruise, if it is a closed loop cruise. Or we get to go on the non-US manifest if it is a repositioning cruise (e.g. transatlantic between Europe and USA). So when you sailed on the Bliss it was a closed loop cruise, you are technically still in the US, thus your passports did not need to be checked and/or stamped when you disembarked. When you finally leave the US by air (or on the eastbound TA) your passports are checked at the check-in to have yourselves marked as having departed the US. There should be no problem for you to go on 2 consecutive cruises. We have done a few Back-to-backs - no issues at all. P.S. when we took the westbound TA (Europe to USA) our passports got checked and stamped by US Immigration upon arrival to the first US port of call. Mrworldwide_88 Posted December 20, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted December 20, 2019 Hi all. Really appreciate your reply. Thanks for your help. Put our minds at ease. Never thought about doing a back to back but what's the point in just staying in a hotel in miami before our cruise when you can do a 4 night then a 7 night. Excited now 🙂
