Punta Cana Tours

 Punta Cana is a port we will be stopping at while cruising on Vision, my question is, would it be better to book a tour on ship or are there things to do at port? I read somewhere there is not much to do there unless u do a tour.  Looking at ALTOS DE CHAVRON & RIVER CRUISE through royal, anybody ever do this tour? Thanks for any input!
