jonealsc Posted January 15, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2020 I'm going back to this lovely island in April 2020, and will be doing some shopping with a friend who can walk a mile or so. Not looking for jewelry shops, but interested in little local arts and crafts shops, or spices, soaps. I read about Ma Doudou, but not much else. Is it easy to catch a cab back to the port from Phillipsburg? Can you pay cabs in American dollars? Suggestions on art galleries, etc., appreciated. Yes, you can pay in US dollars and, in fact, that is the normal method of payment. Some cabs may be able to take a credit card but you cannot count on that - have cash. I have no suggestions on art galleries - I really do not recall many in Philipsburg.
Karysa Posted January 22, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2020 For the items that you are looking for I would go go the Marigot Market. Wed and Sat are the best days for crafters and artists. You can take a cab there and back there and the walking is minimal.
