transport from rental car to port of miami

We're renting a car at FLL airport, driving to Miami, staying overnight precruise. The day we are departing, we drop our rental car at Miami International Airport and take a free shuttle to the port. We are doing the same thing on the day we come back.

Cost: $100 for an 8 passenger Sienna, unlimited mileage one way.

Pros: We have a car the day before we leave and the day we return so we can see a little bit of Miami and/or spend some time at the beach in the Fort Lauderdale. We don't have to wait for busses.

Rental companies that we checked with: Alamo, Dollar, Budget.

Cons: We have to drive ourselves in an unknown city (not really a problem for us).

Good luck!

Hello, this is my first post.

We are sailing on the Century Mar 26.

We are flying into MCO, renting a car, as we have two days pre cruise.

We will drop off the car at FLL airport, (Dollar) and they tell me that they offer a free shuttle to the port, at specified times through the day.

Seeing the car rental is $17.99 / day, it is as cheap as getting a shuttle for 2 people from FLL airport!

I am finding the posts and info on this site very interesting!
